Former Wolves Manager, Dean Nicholas Saunders has despised the large amount Man United are preparing to cash in for Harry Maguire, suggesting Tottenham’s Alderweireld would do a better job.
Dean Saunders who once played for Liverpool and as well coached Wolverhampton has disclosed in an interview with talkSPORT that Man United might be on the verge of wasting money as they have agreed to cash in £80m for Leicester defender, Harry Maguire.

The 55 years old told talkSPORT that paying such an amount for Maguire is not worth it, considering that there are other players who can do better in that position which he called out Tottenham’s backman, Toby Alderweireld.
Toby had been linked to an Old Trafford transfer which didn’t work out last summer when United tried to sign the 30 year old.

“I’ve always said, I’m focused on Spurs and trying to deliver the job that I need to do,” Toby told reporters after the 3-2 victory over Juventus.
Also linked to AS Roma, Toby still insist he isn’t leaving this summer but Dean Saunders thinks the Red Devils should try to lure him other than spending tons of cash on Harry whom he somehow views as a waste of money.

“It’s not his fault, but where is it going to stop?
“Would you take Toby Alderweireld for £25 million or Harry Maguire for £80 million? You can’t get your money back on Alderweireld, he’s 30, but he’s probably a better player right now.
“As a striker, I’d be thinking to myself, ‘If I can get Maguire out in the channels and get him isolated, he’s not mobile’.”
