A 30-year-old man pleads guilty to attempted robbery on Ozil and Kolasinac

Man pleads guilty to July 25th attempted robbery on Arsenal stars, Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac.

A man known to be Ashley Smith has confessed that he was responsible for the attempted robbery on Mesut Ozil and his teammate, Sead Kolasinac.

The incident which took place on 25th July, 2018 had placed Ozil and Kolasinac under watch as they missed the 2019/2020 Premier League opener against Newcastle due to security concerns.

According to Skysports, a Ashley Smith appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court via a video link on Thursday morning confessing he was responsible for the attack on the players.

Smith confessed that he had attempted to steal watches from Ozil and Kolasinac before the German Left Back fought him off and he had to flee.

The 30-year old man is yet to reveal his partners as he wasn’t alone during the robbery but a 26-year-old man by name Jordan Northover has been charged in connection to the robbery incident and is set to appear in court on Friday.

The Judge at Snaresbrook, Judge Sheelagh Canavan has adjourned the sentencing until November 1st with Smith remaining in custody until then.
