The 23-year-old has lacked game time at Chelsea as an exit draws nearer with Italian side, AC Milan ready to snatch the defender.
Tomori got a chance during Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over Morecambe but that has not been enough for his Chelsea career as he eyes an exit as the best option to keep his career running.
During a press conference yesterday, Lampard made it clear that Tomori is likely to leave the club on a loan move as Blues have no intention of permanently letting go of the Calgary born.
AC Milan have been the leaders on the pursuit to convert Tomori, with the Italian side now reaching an agreement to land the Englishman.
Milan were interested to land Strasbourg’s Simakan but dropped out of the race after learning of the French man’s injury, coupled with the fact that RB Leipzig are more favorite to land him.
According to reports, Chelsea would finally be letting Tomori join AC Milan with both sides now trying to reach an agreement on Chelsea’s €30m clause.
AC Milan on the other end are trying to press down the amount considering Tomori hasn’t shown well enough that he can be consistent with his form.
The Rossoneri are trying to be careful on how they handle the matter as they prefer a loan move as tool to test out if Tomori can maintain the tempo before they could push for a permanent deal.
Also demands for an option-to-purchase are been called for by the Serie A leaders.
Chelsea are expected to come to a unified end with Milan so as to have Tomori head to Italy in days time.
