Alaba hints on leaving Bayern in the near future

The Austrian professional footballer Alaba who plays for the German club Bayern Munich has been committed for the Bundesliga Champions this season, but is currently facing a new challenger for his role at left-back.

David Alaba’s future at Allianz Arena seems to seize up in the air after he suggested he could see himself leaving the club in the future.

The 27-year old Austrian has contract at Allianz Arena until the 2021 summer, and has been a first-team fixture under both ex-manager Niko Kovac and Hansi Flick so far this season.

Alaba has filled in impressively at centre-back, and have been covering up for the likes of Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez since they were struck with injury, but their eventual return from injury leaves some doubts around his long-term future in Bayern.

“I am not worried about that at all,” Alaba told Sport1. “At the moment, we have world-class defenders in our team who are injured.

“I know my job right now and I am trying to help the team. Whether or not I will not stay in this position, we will find out.”

Alaba is currently working as a mentor for the 19-year old Davies, the young Canadian after making four substitute appearances in the first eight Bundesliga games of the season, he had played 90 minutes in each of Bayern’s last seven league matches.
