Jordi Alba does not plan to end it with Barcelona anytime soon as he prepares to sign a new 5 year deal.
Alba would have been waving bye to his teammates soon but Bartomeu’s intervention has made the club decide to hand him a new 5-year deal.
With 35 appearances so far for Barcelona this season, Jordi Alba would be doing the exact thing he did back in June 28, 2012 when he signed a 5 year contract for Barcelona.
Uncertainty was becoming the fate of Alba’s future relating to Barcelona until the club’s president stepped in.
According to Marca, Josep Maria Bartomeu, Barcelona President has told the media that he desires to see the defender extend his relationship with the club.
He also told the media that, not only that does he want Jordi to extend his contract to 5 years time, he also wants the manager; Valverde to do the same.
“I want both Valverde and Jordi Alba to continue with us and they both have a contract,” he said to Mundo Deportivo.
Josep was also delighted about the fact that his side defeated all bargaining competitors to gain the signature of Ajax’s Frankie de Jong.
“He is a player for both the present and the future and his signing is a result of hard work from a good team of people, a lot of people were involved so we’re very happy,” he said.
The president disclosed his desire for his side to grab all three titles possible to them; “We want all three titles that are available to us and we dream of the Champions League but we know that it is a very difficult road,” he added.
