The Spanish side has sealed the transfer of Arsenal defender, Nacho Monreal as they set to announce him on Monday.
Nacho Monreal returns to Spain after agreements for him to leave Emirates Stadium were matched by Arsenal and Real Sociedad.
Both clubs are yet to reveal the amount of cash involved in the 2 years contract paper signed by 33-year-old left-back.
The former Malaga player joined Arsenal on 31 January 2013, for an undisclosed amount that was speculated by Skysports to have been around £8.5 m.
With 250 appearances for Gunners, the Spanish returns to his country to continue his career where he has spent most of his professional career times.
Before his move to Malaga, Nacho Monreal had been with Osasuna for 5 years before his 2 years at La Rosaleda where he, later on, moved to Arsenal.
Agreements concluded for Nacho Monreal’s Real Sociedad move was disclosed on their official website, stating;
“Real Sociedad and Arsenal FC have agreed on the transfer of Nacho Monreal. The player will be tied to the club until June 30, 2021.
“The new txuri urdin player will be presented on Monday (time to be determined).”
Gunners have earlier today dished out a statement on their official twitter page to declare the departure of Nacho Monreal.
‘We would like to thank Nacho for his contribution to the club and everyone at Arsenal wishes him the best for his future,’ a statement read. ‘The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.’ – Arsenal wrote on their official site.
