Arsenal manager, Unai Emery Etxegoien disclosed that his side were so unfortunate not have beaten the Red Devils.
History would have been altered last night, but Jesse Lingard’s shot handed Manchester United a draw, thereby extending their record of not losing against Arsenal at Old Trafford since 2006.
During the first half, Arsenal’s defender, Rob Holding was forced to leave the pitch due to a serious injury.
Like wise Ramsey.
Unai Emery expressed his fear for the Rob’s injury saying “It’s the worst for us today. Rob Holding, we are going to wait for the doctor but maybe it’s a big injury.”
Arsenal’s midfielder, Alex Iwobi shared his frustration over their inability to hold on to their lead but instead, they let Manchester United hold them back with an equalizer from Lingard.
“I guess it’s a hard one to take because we were ahead twice. Both teams fought hard, though, so I guess a draw is a fair result for both teams.”-Iwobi said.
The 47 year old Arsenal coach, Emery disclosed that he was somewhat delighted with his boys reactions during the 90th minutes, he share that he believes that his team was close than Manchester when it comes to winning.
“I am very proud for our work and how we responded in the 90 minutes. When we are winning it was a good moment but they equalised very quickly then we got up after their two goals.
“In the second half, our players worked to find a way to win. I think we were close, more than them, to do the third goal but De Gea saved two or three times with good action.” Emery Said.
Arsenal are now at the 5th position, headed by Chelsea, whom they are at par points with, but 4 goals down when it comes to goals difference.
The next fixture will have Arsenal host The Terriers (Huddersfield Town) at Emirates Stadium.
Huddersfield, sitting at the 17th position of the league table, lost their last match against Bournemouth in a 2-1 defeat.
The Terriers are closer to the relegation zone with just 1 point ahead of the three potential relegating teams; Southampton, Burnley and Fulham.
Arsenal might be looking to take advantage of this match to recoup their shared points at Old Trafford.
