The Gabonese striker sustained a strain in his right calf during training last week, missing Gunners loss to Everton in the premier league and Tuesday crash out from the League Cup.

Commenting on his skipper’s injury, Arteta suggested a miss from action tomorrow.

“Auba is working hard with our medical team in order to regain full fitness as soon as possible.”

“He has now joined outside drills and will continue to be assessed regarding availability ahead of Saturday.” Arteta said.

Gabriel Martinelli

The teenage sensation sustained heavy impact and bruising to right shin during the match against Manchester City on Tuesday.

“Gabi is recovering well and we hope he will be able to participate in full training ahead of Saturday.” The gaffer said.

Partey sustained a thigh strain during Gunners loss at Tottenham Hotspur on December 6.

“Thomas is currently unavailable, but is progressing well to now working outside on close ball work, together with the continued focus on his overall fitness rehabilitation.” Arteta said on the Ghanian international.

Arsenal are currently on their worst-ever start to a premier league season with the Emirates outfit near the relegation zone and in dying need of resurgence against Chelsea, a familiar foe on Boxing Day.
