Bayern Munich center back, Niklas Sule has revealed he is still open for a Premier League switch after ditching Chelsea for Munich few years back.
Niklas Sule disclosed he might be joining a Premier League team soon, as he is set to get a taste of English game when Bayern Munich will battle Tottenham on Tuesday.
The Germany International admitted that he had snubbed a move to Chelsea for Bayern Munich back in 2017 for a deal believed to be around $18m.
According to Sule, he had desires to go to England and play the English game as Chelsea and other Premier League clubs were heavily linked to him.
But Bayern Munich lucrative offer eclipsed his desire to play in England, although moving to Munich has done his career some good. Winning 2 Bundesliga titles with the club.
The 24-year-old stated that he would love to add the UEFA champions league to his list of trophies with Bayern Munich but didn’t dismiss talks that he wants a move to England.
“It was a thought to go to the Premier League [in 2017],” the 24-year-old told Goal.
“This is one of the leagues in which I really want to play. At the time, however, I saw the change to Munich as the best step. And, as you can see, I am very happy at Bayern.
“Not only because I got my way, but also because the fans and all the staff are great.”
Sule went on to share how their first week of the UEFA Champions League 2019/2020 season has been and also what he expects against Tottenham on Tuesday.
“It will be an extremely difficult game against a physically strong opponent,” Niklas continued.
“We have to go through our game, with a lot of possession, and then we can win against every opponent.”
The Bavarians triumphed over Red Star Belgrade in the openers while Tottenham shared points with Olympiacos.
“I want to become the best centre-back in the world,” he added, “win the Champions League and win one or more important titles with the national team.”
Niklas has made 93 appearances for Bayern Munich which he has netted 4 goals and has 22 caps with his national side.
