Arsenal bitter rivals, Tottenham are reportedly ready to make a move for Lyon’s Houssem Aouar and will make a bid in the coming days.
Houssem Aouar have long been linked with a move to the Emirates since last summer but the Gunners had two bids rejected by his parent club last season.
However, with French teams under increased financial strain ahead of the new season, Lyon will be forced to sell of its star player to cover the financial impact and Aouar is reportedly on the ‘for-sale list’.
According to multiple reports, Arsenal reignited its interest in the French player and also submitted a fresh bid although it is unclear whether that bid is accepted or is going to be accepted.
Lyon are willing to sell if they receive an offer of about £25-30M significantly less than the £45m they demanded last summer.
Tottenham have now jumped into the race to secure Aouar’s signature and have also held talks with the player’s representative.
Aouar who scored seven goals and made three assists across 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season is open to a new challenge and will make a decision on his future soon.
