The Portuguese must have shocked lots of fans when he pushed down Fred during their celebration against Tottenham
Man United triumphed over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday with Fred booking a spot on the score sheet for the first time since a year ago when he scored against Club Brugge.
The Brazilian finished off a pivotal goal that brought United back on level grounds before Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood went on to win the game for the Red Devils.
In a moment full of joy, one may have misunderstood Bruno Fernandes’ strange celebration as the midfielder rushed down the corner line and pushed Fred to the floor in a way that looked violent.
But the former Sporting Lisbon maestro came on to explain why he had pushed his teammate during their celebration.

According to Bruno, Fred hardly scores for United as he could recall the last time the 28-year-old scored for the side was against Club Brugge over a year ago.
Fred grabbed late brace as United went on to thrash the Belgian side 5-0 back in February 2020 during their previous Europa League campaign.
Fernandes stated that for Fred scoring unusually, then unusual things as he did should be done whenever he scores the unusual goals.
“So [it was] because Fred normally never scores. So, when he scores, we have to do something different,” Fernandes explained.
“It will be the next goal in 1 year because I think the last one he scored for us was against Club Brugge, one year ago almost or maybe more.”
Man United welcome Spanish side, Granada tonight to the Old Trafford as they set to finish off the job after triumphing 2-0 at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.
