Bruno Fernandes to sign a new £200k per week deal at United in coming days.
The player’s agent Miguel Pinto arrived in Manchester earlier this week to negotiate new terms for the Portuguese.
This new deal is an 100% payrise on his current 100k per week deal which he signed 18 months ago, when he first joined the club.
Fernandes has been a clearly the best player at the club since joining from sporting Lisbon winning multiple EPL POTM’S.
An ever-present in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first team, the midfielder has scored 28 goals in all competitions this season, and provided 17 assists in United’s colour.
Though he still has four years left on his current contract, United are eager to reward his exceptional form.
Old Trafford senior management are keen to wrap up the new deal with Pinto and Fernandes before the start of Euro 2020 on 11 June.
However, the club are reportedly not prepared to entertain any proposal to include a buy-out clause in Fernandes’ new contract.
Fernandes said he is happy with the progress United are making under Solskjaer.
The Red Devils have secured second place in the Premier League and will be hoping to add a silverware to their fairly impressive as they face Villarreal in the Europa League final on 26 May.
‘My priority today is to win trophies,’ he said. ‘I think the club has improved a lot since I arrived here.
‘It is in a growth phase and the players are getting more and more the mentality that you should have in a club like Manchester United, which wants to win titles and more titles.
‘That’s what we’re here for. I feel like I’m part of that and I’m here to help the club evolve.’
