Arsenal should get rid of Aubameyang – Cascarino cries out
Ex-Chelsea player Tony Cascarino has been given some word of advice on players he needs to sell off should he be officially given Arsenal job.
He has offered some advice to the incoming Arsenal boss to pointing at some players he should let go once he becomes the Gunners manager with the ex-Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang included.
The Gabon international has just one year of his contract remaining and his future at Emirates Stadium remains up in the clouds, and it will be one of the few issues Arteta needs to fix once he is officially announced as Arsenal head coach.
“The biggest challenges he will face is dealing with the senior players,” Cascarino told the Times.
“I remember when Ron Aktinson came into Aston Villa, he said to me immediately; I have agreed a fee with Celtic for you.”
“That is how Arteta should approach it, starting with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, David Luiz, Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi.”
Meanwhile, despite the uncertainty of Aubameyang’s future at the Emirates Stadium, the goal scorer has netted 13 goals and 1 assist in 21 games in all competitions for the Gunners this season and Arsenal sits 10th in the EPL table.
The Gunners will visit Goodison Park on Saturday for the Premier League clash against struggling Everton.
