Man Utd striker, Edinson Cavani has reacted to a violent encounter with Everton defender, Yerry Mina in the Carabao semi-finals at Goodison Park last night.
The Uruguayan was seen grabbing his Colombian counterpart in the neck in the 52nd minute of the encounter before bringing him down with The Toffees players calling for the sending off of the 33-year-old.
Reacting to the ugly incident, Cavani played down hurtful intents on his part.
According to him, the situation was ‘tense’ and merely trying to free himself up.

“We were trying to score, i needed some space.

“I think it happened so fast, we were trying to build play”

That however failed to stop the in-form striker from hitting a stunner into the net to send United into the semis for a tie against City in January.
The FA are yet to release any charge on the former PSG man amid roars of sanction for violent conduct.
The Uruguayan will hope to register on the score sheet once again in the premier league at Leicester on Saturday.
