Edinson Cavani is left with much works to do as Paris Saint German head coach admits the Uruguayan needs to get acquainted with managing the pressure Maurio Icardi’s competition brings.
Cavani made his first start since August 25th, yesterday for PSG yesterday when the Parisians visited Stade Francis le Blé.
Edinson Cavani failed to net a goal after Samuel Grandsir’s 72nd minute equalizer dashed out Angel Di Maria’s early lead for the French champions.
Thomas Tuchel super sub, Mario Icardi then came off the bench to hand PSG the honor as the first team to leave Brest with a win this season.
Icardi’s goal 5 minutes after coming into the match has exposed Edison Cavani’s ‘lack of rhythm’ as quoted by the former Dortmund manager.
“It’s not easy to play against this team here for an attacker,” Tuchel told Canal+.
“He [Cavani] lacks rhythm. He must manage this competition. It’s like that for his job. It’s always difficult for an attacker, a very sensitive position. But we have no choice but to accept this situation and work hard.
“Sometimes you are in a phase where you feel good. There is a bit of luck and everything goes perfectly. Mauro is in this phase.”
The manager went on to talk about the changes he has made to the team after their Champions league victory against Belgian side, Clubb Brugge as he also shared his feeling as the first manager to leave the Stadium in Brest with 3 points this season.

“I really like this victory,” he added. “A lot of changes have been made, including players lacking rhythm and confidence like Layvin [Kurzawa], Edinson [Cavani] and [Julian] Draxler. The changes were necessary to stay fresh.
“It was not easy in the first period with the wind against us. We had opportunities to accelerate but we made technical mistakes. The second period was easier to control but we gave an opportunity to the opponent, who scored.
“A good reaction was shown afterwards. I felt like we really believed it. We deserved to win. We are the first to win here! [this season].”
