Scotish side, Celtic have been tipped off to expect interest from Arsenal over their frontman, Odsonne Edouard.
Odsonne Edouard has been a major scorer in the Celtic squad and has managed to attract interest from North London with Arsenal likely suitors of the French man.
Odsonne Edouard is expected to be Arsenal’s main transfer target should Gunner’s fail to hold back Pierre Aubameyang.
Arsenal are currently still trying to have Aubameyang renew his contract but it’s rumored the Gabonese is waiting on a bid from Barcelona as he isn’t sure of Europe’s major competition as they already lost Europa League spot and a loss to Chelsea on FA Cup final will dash that hope totally.Embed from Getty Images
Back at the Hoops, Edouard was a prolific part of the squad before the premature closeure of the Scottish league season, netting 22 times in such a short period.
Arsenal might be forced to sell off Aubameyang to avoid losing him without pay and ex-Celtic manager, John Barnes believes Gunners will turn to Odsonne Edouard should Aubameyang leave North London.
“Do Celtic fans really believe that their best player isn’t available for the right price? No, they don’t. This is a fact of life, and of modern football,” Barnes said to BonusCodeBets .
“Odsonne Edouard is the top striker in Scotland and if Aubameyang was to leave Arsenal, then they will be looking at Edouard’s situation.
“However, if Aubameyang stays, then I don’t see him coming.”
“I think if you look at any of the top players in Scotland that they could come down to England and be a success,” he added.
“He [Edouard]’s doing very well at the moment and could make the step up to the Premier League if he gets a move that’s right for him and works for how he plays.”
Arsenal have a very good relationship with Celtic when it comes to the transfer business and their last businesses have paid off, considering the success of Kieran Tierney since arriving Emirates Stadium.
They have a very low budget to spend from which isn’t yet assured with Arteta having disclosed fears of likely to going to get funded.
Be it as it may, the end of English Premier League 2019/2020 season will determine if Arsenal will be asking after Odsonne Edouard or Pierre Aubameyang will be staying back.
