Chelsea take the lead after the first 45 minutes as they host Spurs on the first EPL game of the weekend.
Jose Mourinho clearly isn’t getting a warm welcome message from Frank Lampard whom was once taking orders from the Portuguese.
With Tammy Abraham on the bench, Olivier Giroud lead the attacking line for the Blues while supports came in from Mason Mount and Ross Barkley, with Christain Pulisic yet to make his return as well.
Right at the 15th minute, Oliver Giroud proved he is a good sub while Tammy is still to make a full come back.
Jorginho curled a glorious pass down the inside right channel for Giroud. A poor first touch takes him a bit wider than he’d like, but he powered a shot towards the bottom right anyway. Lloris parries.

Barkley got onto the rebound and slammed a shot against the right-hand post. Giroud latched onto that rebound and drove home, beating Lloris, as the ball flew into the bottom right.
While still waiting to watch Ruben Loftus-Cheek after a long spell of injury, Reece James, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Marcos Alonso took the mid-field role of Frank’s 3-4-3 formation.
At the back line is Azpilicueta, Christensen and Rudiger competing against Jose’s Steve Bergwijn and Lucas Moura as Harry Kane is yet to return from injury.
The midfield is clearly flooded as Mourinho as got 5 men at the center; Davis, Lo Celso, Winks, Ndombele and Tanganga.
A three man defense also for Spurs, as Vertonghen, Alderweireld and Davinson provide the support for goalstopper; Hugo Lloris.
As things stand, the Blues will go four points clear of Spurs in fourth, thanks to Olivier Giroud’s expertly taken goal. The best you can say for Tottenham: they’re still in it.
