
Chelsea have announced their new Captain and new shirt numbers for the 2020/2021 premier league season.
The transfer window has been remarkable for the premier league side Chelsea. After facing a one year transfer ban, Frank Lampard’s team was handed a huge boost in the market.
After spending over £200M in the market to secure Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, Ben Chilwell from Leicester, Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.
The team also signed Thiago Silva from Paris saint Garmain, Malang Sarr from OG Nice and Xavier Mbuyamba all for free.

Speculations have been making rounds that The new signing Thiago Silva would become Frank Lampard’s Chelsea Captain for the season, because of his experience, age and leadership skills.
But some hours, ago after confirming the new Jersey numbers for the players and new signings, the club also confirmed that Ceser Azpilicueta remains their Captain.
They made it known on their social media page saying “Our Captain! Ceser Azpilicueta”

Christian Pulisic will be the new Chelsea number 10, he will succeed Willian who moved to Arsenal weeks ago to the number.
Hakim Ziyech will now wear the number 22 shirt worn by Christian Pulisic, the shirt number which he wore at Ajax.
With Tomori set to join Everton on loan, the record Signing, Kai Havertz will now wear the number 29 shirt, a number he adores very well from Leverkusen.
It seems neither Marcos Alonso nor Emerson is leaving, so the new left back from Leicester, Ben Chilwell will wear the number 21 shirt.

Then Thiago Silva will wear the number 6 shirt, worn by Danny Drinkwater, who would be leaving the club this summer.
With the confirmation of those numbers and Captain, it seems Chelsea 2020/21 season is ready.
Although they are still pushing to sign Rennes goalkeeper Eduardo Mendy and Declan Rice from Westham United.
