Frank Lampard has been handed a massive boost ahead of his side’s crucial clash against league leaders Liverpool on Sunday at Stamford bridge. The Blues boss has endured a rough beginning since his arrival, having seen the team’s results marred by injury to key squad members.

N’golo Kante is expected to return to action against the reds after missing four consecutive games in all competitions after injuring his ankle during their Epl clash against Leicester city.

The French midfielder has been heavily missed at the center of the pitch since his absence and will be a major boost for the Blues facing Liverpool.

The Blues will also welcome back Left-back Emerson Palmieri and Youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi back from injury spells. The Italian full back limped off the pitch during his side’s EURO 2022 qualifier against Estonia which saw him miss last weekend’s clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 25-year-old has enjoyed regular playing time under new manager Frank Lampard and will hope to continue his fine form for the blues against Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Hudson-Odoi is yet to kick the ball this season after suffering an Archilles tendon injury against Burnley last season and was tipped to return before the start of the new season.

The youngster said he feels “fit and ready”. The Blues supporters will hope to see the forward in action on Sunday against the European champions.

However, Chelsea will be without Mason Mount after the 20-year-old turned his first ankle following a bad challenge from Valencia midfielder Francis Coquelin during their UEFA Champions league clash on Tuesday.
