Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard presents his team update during the day’s Press conference as his side prepare to take on Arsenal
Chelsea look to continue their win runs after bouncing back from 2 consecutive loses prior to their West Ham victory on Monday.
The Monday match saw Ben Chilwell replaced early Palmieri Emerson after the English man suffered a knock and was unable to continue the game.

Ahead of the London Derby, Frank Lampard was quizzed on his players availability against a side that currently lacks ‘confidence’.
“They are both doubtful. Can’t give an answer. Not sure if fit for either game,” Lampard said on Ben Chilwell and Reece James’ chances on featuring on the Boxing Day.
“No, he won’t be fit for Arsenal.,” the former Chelsea midfielder continued as he was as well questioned on Ziyech returning to the pitch.Embed from Getty Images
“It’s a muscle injury so we need to wait for it to recover. Not a long-term concern and we hope to have him back in a week or so. That’s football when players are playing every two or three days,” he added.
Timo Werner has of lately missed lots of chances as this has got the fans worried but it appears it isn’t same with the manager who believes Timo will score goals when the time is right.
Asked if Timo Werner is frustrated with his goal drought, Lampard said, “I don’t sense frustration.”Embed from Getty Images
“You want to score regularly but every striker has moments where it doesn’t drop for whatever reason. But he is getting chances and they will come.”
Following the German’s arrival from the Bundesliga, he revealed of having underestimated the Premier League due to his form back at Leipzig.
Frank Lampard went on to speak on how he see’s Timo’s honesty of admitting he underestimated the EPL as he said, “Honesty is a good thing but not always taken in right context.”
“Don’t think Timo has underestimated – he understands rigours of Premier League but it’s about reacting to a different challenge. He’ll score a lot of goals for.
Despite his current woes, Timo has always been on the scoresheet either for goals or assists each time he lines up with Tammy Abraham as a clear picture was seen on the West Ham night game when he provided assist to the English man’s goal.Embed from Getty Images
Having netted 5 goals in 13 EPL appearances for Blues this season, Frank Lampard went on to share how pleased he is with the striker.
“I’m pleased with Tammy, he offers a lot but he has to keep working and progressing. I’m very happy with him.”
With a goalkeeper and defense line hungered to continue their clean-sheet run, it would be very difficult for a weak Arsenal side to end the game in victory as they were also seen crumbled last night by Guardiola’s City.
But Frank Lampard still sees Arsenal as a threat as he recalled the last thing he remembered of playing Arsenal was always that big rivalry.
“We had a real rivalry,” the 42-year-old said. “Arsenal had the upperhand at the start but we changed the tide. I enjoy that side of it as long as it’s carried out the right way. That rivalry remains but it’s still about passion, that’s what a derby brings.”Embed from Getty Images
“Playing a derby form goes out the window,” he continued as he was questioned on what it feels like to face a less confident side.
“It’s a spur to get a result and we have to expect the best Arsenal. They are well coached and have lots of threats in attacking areas.”
‘I don’t want to talk about what their battle is,” Lampard said as he was also asked if Arsenal are battling with the relegation zone.
“They are a good team with a good manager. They have had some tough results recently. The general wave for every team in the Premier League this season has been more inconsistent than usual. “
‘It’s not my concern exactly where they are at. My concern is the team at face value in terms of quality, and they are a high-quality team.
‘When you play a derby form does go out the window,’ he added.
