Thomas Tuchel has had his list of Chelsea squad for the UEFA Champions League submitted to the body ahead of their Atletico Madrid clash
Despite having had a long bad run, the Blues are keen on a UEFA Champions League shocker show, being one of the least considered contenders.
Tuchel’s first two games in charge of the Stamford Bridge side must have sent a warning alarm to other competitors in the UCL race as the side are yet to concede a shot on target.
The team’s defensive composure is currently top notch and they expect to carry on with the spirit when they face Diego Simeone’s men who are way ahead on top of the La Liga table.
With Chelsea not making any signing during the just concluded transfer window, only players who left from the club change the look of the list.
But it’s clear now that the first 11 option won’t remain as it used to under Lampard’s era. Marcos Alonso, Hudson-Odoi and Rudiger are those more assured of a game time now after sealing their place with fine performances in the first two games under Tuchel.
Below is the official list submitted by Chelsea:
Goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Willy Caballero, Edouard Mendy
Defenders: Antonio Rudiger, Marcos Alonso, Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Ben Chilwell, Cesar Azpilicueta, Emerson Palmieri
Midfielders: Jorginho, , N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz
Attackers: Tammy Abraham, Timo Werner, Olivier Giroud.
Goalkeepers: Karlo Ziger
Defenders: Reece James, Henry Lawrence
Midfielders: Mason Mount, Billy Gilmour, Tino Anjorin
Attackers: Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Note: List A is made up of up to 25 players with a minimum of eight of the players being locally trained and four coming through the club between 15 and 21.
List B is made up of players ages 21 or below with two years development at the club.
