Following impressive performances from Blues’ latest acquisitions this term, Frank Lampard is not relenting on solidifying the Chelsea defense line despite the summer addition of Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva, a January move for David Alaba seems to be right on course with recent turn of events.

The 28-year-old has vehemently turned down contract extension talks with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich with eyes set for a move to West London having spent over a decade at Allianz Arena.

Chelsea however will have to beat tough competitions from PSG with the Parisians hoping to lure the Bayern Munich star to the French capital with a lucrative contract offer after failing to land any major big money signing last summer window.

Italian champions Juventus are reportedly interested also in signing the defender, with the Serie A kings needing addition to its left-back as Alex Sandro’s contract nears expiration.

Despite numerous interests, West London remains the favorite destination for the Bayern defender with previous remarks by his agent suggesting a potential winter deal.

The 28-year-old had previously expressed admiration for Frank Lampard’s current crop of players and will fancy the opportunity to join the growth following impressive performances so far by the Blues.

No doubt an eventual deal would see a bolstered Chelsea given Alaba’s enviable record for Bayern Munich and versatility on the pitch, as the 28-year-old now operates at center-back after starting his career as a left-back and is usually deployed to the midfield for his country Austria.
