Charlie Nicholas Criticized Arsenal caretaker coach Freddie Ljungberg and his Squad selection for the match against Norwich City on Sunday
Ljungberg was appointed as Arsenal caretaker on a temporal basis, following the dismiss of Unai Emery last week from Emirates Stadium, but unfortunately, the Swedish coach did not get off the most convincing start with the club.
The Gunners looked suspect in some areas as they dropped yet another points at Carrow Road, and the ex-Arsenal star, Nicholas has pointed out five particularly poor players who should be left out of Ljungberg’s starting XI.
Nicholas writing for Sky Sports, slammed Granit Xhaka, David Luiz, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Shkodran Mustafi and Calum Chambers, though it’s worth nothing that Sokratis was not actually in the starting line up.
He questioned the Swedish caretaker, why he decided to give flops like Xhaka and Mustafi more chances after their total lack of impact in the last few years.
“They had a bit more spike about them at the weekend but Freddie, why are you picking Shkodran Mustafi?’ Nicholas said.
“When are you going to learn about Calum Chambers? I also cannot understand how David Luiz is in the team. He just doesn’t want to run. He is only interested when he gets the ball at his feet.
“Sokratis Papastathopoulos is a shocker and Mustafi is even worse. Granit Xhaka also cannot run.”
It is a very clear thing that Ljungberg or any other coach next as Arsenal head coach will struggle with this set of players.
