Arsenal already began their planned ‘squad flush’ just as Arteta has made mention of earlier with Kolasinac and William Saliba already left for a loan move
It appears that Arsenal are still getting started on the said offload after popular transfer agent reveals two players the North London side are currently working on letting go within days time.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Sokratis is the next in line to leave the squad with Italian side, Genoa the most recent club to have asked after chances of acquiring the defender.
Sokratis joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund back in 2018 and has managed to become a regular until the emergence of Mikel Arteta as manager.
The club is keen to let the Greece man leave but definitely not to Genoa anymore as the side already pushed for an alternative after learning of the 32-year-old’s medical reports which were said to be less encouraging.
Gunners await any further offer or they could lose him as a free agent as they also had been reported to have agreed to let the defender leave to Fenerbahçe for free.
Second name on Fabrizio’s list is Mesut Ozil who is expected to leave the club in no long time despite the fans demands to have the German reinstated back into their squad.
Arteta earlier on said the club would know what to do with Ozil after the transfer window but guess that’s if he doesn’t leave during the window.
Ozil was left unregistered during the first phase of the season and there are still chances he could be added to the squad if Arsenal can’t get him out with his contract months to expiration.
Lately the club had offered Juventus an opportunity to sign the former Madrid man but the Old Lady seem more interested in their existing midfielder who they believe will become one of the best midfielders.
As it stands currently, Sokratis and Mesut Ozil remain the names on Arsenal’s urgent-to-dump list.
