Series of criticisms have been lashed out by the fans who expected the Bayern Munich should have loan Manchester City winger, Leroy Sane. Most claims were that Perisic is getting old and wouldn’t produce pleasant results.
Speaking to Skysports, the manager at Bayern Munich expressed that age shouldn’t be a considerable factor at in judging their loan option, considering the fact that Stefan Effenberg joined Bayern Munich when he was 30-years of age and still brought home the Champions League trophy.
“It’s true, Perisic was in Munich today for the loan deal to be finalised, I can confirm it. There are certainly still small questions to be clarified, but everything should be resolved quickly. I think everything will be fine. Stefan Effenberg arrived at Bayern Munich at age 30 and brought the Champions League with him. We need to move away from the age issue, we need to look at what players can give us in the future.” Kovac told Skysports.
“Perisic instead of Sané? You can’t talk about a B, C or X solution and I think we will all have to ask ourselves if what’s happening here recently is right. I think this is not the point, every player deserves the respect he is due.”
Although, it is however likely that Inter Milan might still chase after Leroy Sane during the next transfer window, depending on Ivan Perisic performance on loan and as well nature of things with Sane.
Perisic has been reported by German media to be waiting to earn €4.5m yearly on the loan contract as looks for a better future with Bayern Munich after spending 4 years with Inter Milan.
Bayern Munich are also interested in bringing in on loan, wantaway Barcelona midfielder, Philippe Coutinho who has been rejected on multiple occasions by Paris Saint German and Juventus.
