The 29-year-old joined Werder Bremen on loan just 6 months after joining Chelsea and on returning after the season long loan, he pushed for a return to the country, according to Jose Mourinho.

“He impressed me so much I made the decision I don’t want this kid to go on loan, I want him to stay, and in [Chelsea’s] first match of the Premier League season he started against Hull City,” Mourinho told TalkSport.
“In the second match we got to Old Trafford and after this he come to me and said, ‘I want to play every match, I want to play every minute’. He put a lot of pressure on that.”
“He wanted to leave [Chelsea], he wanted to go to Germany where he was previously on loan and so happy, and his decision was to go. He put big pressure on that and it worked very well for him.”
Kevin De Bruyne returned to the Premier League after just a season in Germany as he joined Manchester City.
Since his arrival in 2015, Kevin has made over 170 league appearances for the Cityzens as he gradually became a regular in the team.
Unfortunately he lost the Champions League last season to his former side on May 29th, when Kai Havertz netted the only goal of the game.
