Kepa Arrizabalaga saw the bitter part of his career during Frank Lampard’s era as the English man opted to have Edouard Mendy
Thomas Tuchel’s arrival has marked so many changes with the German also having handed Kepa Arrizabalaga an opportunity to regain his spot in the club.
The last two games have seen Kepa in between the sticks for Chelsea with Edouard Mendy left at the side lines.
Although the former PSG boss had clearly stated that the 26-year-old returning to the squad doesn’t wipe Mendy off the front page as he still remains the number one choice.
Kepa on the other hand is so glad to be handed the opportunity by his new boss as he stated he has always been ready to fight for a place since under Lampard.
“With Lampard there has been no problem,” the Spaniard said. “It is true that I have not played what I wanted to play. I have no problem with it.”
“I want to turn it around and I want to be here. I hope to play more. What I want is to feel important at Chelsea.”
Chelsea prepare to lock horns with Southampton tomorrow and it’s likely the former Atletico Bilbao keeper will be in charge of the post once more as Mendy could be rested for the Atletico Madrid match on Tuesday.
