Kylian Mbappe has cleared the air on his future after his side failed to defend the league 1 trophy
Lille snatched the League 1 trophy off the hands of Paris Saint German with a 2-1 victory over Brest.
The Parisians although did secure a win in the last day of their 2020/2021 season but wasn’t enough to fire them back to the top zone.
With the failure to retain the title, many feared Kylian Mbappe would want out as they also had failed to win their first UEFA champions league trophy after losing out to Manchester City in the semi finals.
But the Frenchman seems keen on remaining with PSG despite interests from several sides, including a move that is likely to reunite him with his former manager, Tuchel over at Chelsea.
Speaking on his future after the game on Sunday, the 22-year-old said to Goal; “Everyone knows I have a deep connection to the club.
“I want to thank them because when I come here I am no one. They gave me more confidence than I deserved. I have always been grateful to the officers and the club.
“What I want is to win, and for there to be a solid project around me. It is the most important. I eat and live football and the sports project is very important.
“There is only one club that wins the Champions League every year, but you have to feel that you are leaving with a team that wants to win.
“We will discuss with the club and we will see what will happen. Either way, I’ve always been happy here. I understand that everyone is waiting for my answer. We’ll do things in order.”
This genuinely clears the air and could have already began putting off interests from suitors including Liverpool who were reportedly ready to go all out for the Frenchman.
But stubborn bidders could still force up something if they can submit the huge €180m tag for the former Monaco star.
Real Madrid are also another side on Mbappe’s radar and with news of Hazard’s exit links, Los Blancos could turn to Mbappe.
Although his closest man, Neymar has managed to pen down an extension with the Parisians but Mbappe is yet to, with one-year left on his papper.
