Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard has revealed the reason behind winger, Christian Pulisic’s drop from Blues squad against Everton last night.
The Blues lost their second match of the current league campaign at Goodison Park last night with Pulisic greatly missed in the Blues attack.
Pulisic was thought to be fit and ready to play ahead of the trip to Goodison Park, but his absence from the squad left Blues fans feeling very concerned given the winger has missed a fair bit of action already this season, only appearing in five league games to date.
Suspicions of an injury were confirmed afterwards by Chelsea boss Lampard, though it doesn’t seem to be a serious setback
Speaking on the 22-year-old’s absence, Lampard disclosed the American is slightly hurt in his hamstring but could be available for Tuesday encounter at Wolves.
“Christian has a bit of an awareness in his hamstring,” the Blues boss told BT Sport. He did great last week when he came on, but in the week, he’s been feeling a little bit of awareness.
“We’ve seen two wingers of ours go down recently. We’re coming up to the biggest period of the season and players are getting a lot of muscle injuries in their legs.
“Christian, yeah, he wasn’t quite ready. I hope he is for Tuesday or for next week.” He added.
Blues supporters watched with dismay a Chelsea side that struggled all through at Goodison Park to create chances while in-form goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was found culpable for Blues conceded penalty after a mistimed tackle at Dominic Calvert-Lewin with Gylfi Sigurdsson coolly converting the spot-kick to hand the Blues their second loss of the season.
