Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has showered praises on youngster Mason Mount for his outstanding performance against Brighton on Saturday.
Mount had a hand in the Blues’ penalty kick scored by Jorginho, after being fouled by Adam Webster. After the match, Frank Lampard was particularly impressed with the 20-year-old whom he managed last season at Derby County, netting 11 goals and six assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.
The Blues’ boss admitted he’s been overwhelmed by the youngster’s performance this season, stating: “He has an all-round game and that quality. I probably didn’t expect this type of level already at Chelsea. I thought it would take him a bit of time. But he’s been straight in and is improving daily.”
Chelsea will make a trip to France on Wednesday to face LOSC Lille in their UEFA champions league matchday two fixture with hopes to replicate their fine premier league outing on Saturday against the 4th placed team in the French league 1 who also lost their opener in the champions league against Ajax Amsterdam.
