Barcelona 2:1 Inter Milan: Inter Milan slash 49 years Camp Nou curse despite losing to Barcelona after an early lead.
Inter Milan appear to be in the right hand as they have succeeded in demolishing a 49 years spell in Spain after their early goal against Barcelona.
Lautaro Martinez was quick to put the Nerrazurri in front against Barcelona before the Catalans came from behind and stole the lead.
Martinez’s goal is Inter Milan’s first goal on the Camp Nou ground in 49-years as the Italian club hadn’t found the back of the net at Camp Nou since 1970.
Inter’s five visits to Camp Nou since the 1970 Fairs Cup have all ended in defeat as they failed to score.
The 22-year-old striker has also been on Barcelona’s radar for quite a long time now and there are chances the La Liga side would reopen his talks.
Although Martinez’s agent claimed no offer has been received from Barcelona and his client is very happy at Inter.
“I heard the rumours about Barcelona because the truth is nobody has spoken to us. It’s only rumours at this stage. I have no idea how Inter would react, you’d need to ask them. If he’s happy in Milan? That’s something only he can say,” Alberto Yaqué told Passione Inter.
“Lautaro is happy at Inter but he wants to play and that’s logical,” added Yaque in comments to Fox Sports.
