One of the robbers, Ashley Smith who attacked Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil and Kolasinac has been captured on a leaked video clip taking a severe beating from fellow inmate as he kick-starts his 10 years run behind bars.
The 2 minutes video clip shows Ashley Smith being repeatedly punched to the face as he pleaded for his life amid accusations that he had robbed an inmate’s friend’s mum.
Ashley who pleaded for his life sustained brutal injuries especially on his eyes that had been rumpled up by the punches.
“I can’t see. It wasn’t me. I swear to God it wasn’t me, on my kid’s life.” The blood soaked 30-year-old man kept pleading on the video.
“If you don’t give me a name now you’re dead.” The attacker kept demanding in the footage which was captured in the prison not too far away from Arsenal Emirate Stadium ground.
The footage was recorded at HMP Pentonville in North London with a device that had been smuggled into the walls and afterwards sent to links on the outside before it leaked on the Whatsapp.
Although some parts of the video had been edited in order to hide some of the brutality on the Smith. See clip below.
But despite the severe injuries, Smith still had to appear in court with a towel round his head and stitches on his face to plead guilty to the attempted attack on the Gunners.
“As you can see he has a towel around his head because he was attacked last night.”Said Susan Meek to Harrow Crown Court while defending her client who wanted to be sentenced as quickly as possible.
“He has stitches in his right eye, and he may lose the sight in his left eye. It was made clear to him his life was in danger.
“He is extraordinarily distressed and scared and really wants this to be put to an end as soon as possible.”
The Prison Service said: “An HMP Pentonville prisoner required hospital treatment after an incident on 5 November.
“It would be inappropriate to comment further as police are investigating.”
