Kai Havertz has struggled to do things he did back at Bundesliga since his big money move to Chelsea
Frank Lampard has been questioned by former Havertz’s manager following the German’s inability to perform since his arrival from Leverkusen.
Havertz has failed to make notable impact since he joined the Blues after netting just one goal in 15 premier league appearances and managing a hat trick in his side’s EFL clash against Barnsley.
The 21-year-old was a top-notch performing as Bundesliga returned first from the COVID break, exposing him to many interests including Real Madrid.
Serving as a false-9, Havertz was able to bang goals as he fired his side to the finals of the DFB Pokal where they unfortunately lost to Bayern Munich.
Speaking to Athletic, Peter Bosz, Havertz former manager said; “As for Kai, I can see why Chelsea brought him in but I cannot yet see the exact idea Frank Lampard has for him.
“It’s really good that he protects him in the press, though. But in the end, you must deliver, you must score goals and make goals. For a €100 million transfer you must play, and he isn’t.”
The player hopes to get back to top form after recovering from COVID, which reportedly had him out of form.
Chelsea lost to Man City during their last game, with Havertz coming in late to provide an assist to Hudson-Odoi who netted Chelsea’s only goal in the 3-1 loss to City.
