Man. United look to convince Leicester City on Harry Maguire’s deal as they are reported to have decided to add Phil Jones to the deal.
Harry Maguire’s transfer to Manchester United is taking longer than it should, despite that the English defender has been reported willing to make the switch.
Several offers have been received over and over again from the both Manchester clubs, but Leicester keeps turning them down, stating that their prices are way lower than they want.
The Foxes want over 80m for the 26 year old Sheffield born left back whom would be considered as the most costly defender if the transfer pulls through.
Seeing the heavy amount Man. United were willing to splash on kid Wan-Bissaka, Leicester would definitely hold on to their asset, knowing fully well Man. United would cash-in if they really want him.
Jacob Harry Maguire is still needed at Leicester but at the same time considered as one of the needed players to solidify Solskjaer’s team, especially on the defense line.
Solskjaer at the other hand, on his quest to reset the squad had stated earlier last season that his time as manager at Old Trafford would see many players leave the squad, especially those used by his predecessor, Jose Mourinho.
Phil Jones might definitely be one of the players Solskjaer had in mind when he talked about the team-flush.
According to reports from popular news site; Telegraph, the Norwegian, might decide to use Jones as a bait to get Maguire over to Old Trafford following his several failed attempts to convince Leicester.
“Yeah, of course, there’s a limit of players,” Solskjaer said when asked about his stockpile of centre halves ahead of Wednesday’s game against Leeds United.
“Whoever performs will be part of the team and whoever doesn’t they have got to fight to get back in. There’s been loads of speculation but we’ll work to find a relationship with the ones we’ve got.
“Axel has got a great chance of staying here and playing. He had a great season last year.
It was a stop-start season with injuries but he’s really proven he can play at that level, he got promoted with Villa and he’s come strong. Focused.
He did well in the first game here [against Perth Glory on Saturday] and he’s one of the exciting players that I can’t wait to see more of.”
The manager ended.
Leicester are still yet to receive any Man. United offer involving Phil Jones as they are still adamant on their price.
