The former PSG man was handed a three match ban on the last night of December 2020 following his comments on Instagram
Edinson Cavani’s ban is raising more dust after Uruguayan players make demands that FA should over turn the ban.
Following the incident which could still see Cavani miss Man United’s clash with Manchester City on January 6th, Uruguayan footballers have reportedly asked for the ban to be lifted.
According to the message from the Uruguayan Football Players’ Association which was spearheaded by Diego Godin, the FA is guilty of ‘discriminating’ one of their own.
Diego Godin is a national team mate of the former Napoli man and used his Twitter account to share the message.
Quoting few lines from the message; “Edinson Cavani has never committed any conduct that could be interpreted as racist. He merely used a common expression in Latin America to affectionately address a loved one or close friend.”
According to Eurosport, the AFU has also condemned the FA ban and also asked that the ban be lifted.
