Harry Maguire deal to Man United draws closer to conclusion as the Red Devils reportedly offer to pay £10m short the declared price for the defender.
Man United have considered Maguire as a top transfer target this season after sealing Swansea’s Daniel James and Crystal Palace’s Wan-Bissaka deal.
The Red Devils were supposed to have concluded the deal a long time but the £90m price tag on the defender’s shoulder caused them to give a second thought as to go on with the transfer or not.
Several opinions had been voiced by professional in the industry as well and Manchester United seems to have completed their thoughts and have now decided on the defender’s fate with them.
According to Skysports, Leicester would be getting £80m against the £90m fee they want on Maguire as the defender sets to break the transfer record set by Liverpool van Dijk.
£10m closer to £100m is somewhat very costly especially for a defender in the Premier League but this is considered a price to scare away suitors who want to have the defender despite Leicester stating that they do not want to let him go.
Maguire at the other hand, had been reported to have pleaded with his side to let him leave as he eyes Champions League games which Man United would give him more chances than Leicester would do.
The transfer is considered a top priority for the Red Devils as they hope the Foxes accept the £10m short their declared price. According to reports, Ed Woodward decided to forfeit Man United Australia tour so as to stay back to finalize the deal.
