Man United manager, Ole Solskjaer has disclosed some of his lineup against Chelsea as Maguire sets to make debut for the Red Devils.
Following the just completed window, Man United looks to get back to competitive actions as Solskjaer discloses the Man United squad line-up to battle long time rivals, Chelsea, tomorrow at Old Trafford.
New signings have joined joined the Red Devils as well as some old players left, Lingard and Lukaku respectively and Ole seems confident with the squad he has at hand after his side completed what he considered as top priority transfer, Harry Maguire who has made it to the Man United line-up to face the Blues.
The manager spoke to the club’s official TV channel, Mutv today and disclosed that his side is ready to get back to action as nothing has changed in his frontline despite the late departure of their number 9, Romelu Lukaku whom Mason Greenwood would be replacing in the Man United line-up.
Lukaku hit a late exit as he left the Red Devils at the last day but the manager has told the club that he’s very confident with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood with him.
”Of course, Rom (Lukaku) has a good record and good stats,“ Ole told Mutv.
”He’s one of the top number nines around, when you want to play with that kind of striker, and he’s that target man.
“For me, I’m very confident that we’ll get goals from [Anthony] Martial, [Marcus] Rashford. Dan James will come in and create. I’m sure Jesse Lingard will get more [goals], so we do have a different attacking set-up this season. Solskjaer said.
Lukaku’s departure has been considered as a gateway for new kid, Greenwood to make his mark at the club as he will be making it into the Man United line-up to face Chelsea.
“You do have players that you think are going to make an impact and Mason Greenwood’s pathway would have been a lot more difficult, of course, if we had another forward there.” Ole said
“So, for me, I believe that Mason’s going to be playing and involved a lot, and, when he is, he’ll score goals.”
The manager went on to share his excitements at the package he got on Harry Maguire’s signing. According to the words of the manager, Harry appeared more than he wished for and is excited to be adding him to the Man United line-up to face Chelsea.
“Harry has impressed me, very much so. He has come in as a presence. He is taller and bigger than I thought. He has come in as a real plus. He will have an impact on the rest of the boys.” Ole added.
“Yeah, Harry is ready to play. I am sure he will put himself up, when I ask him on Sunday morning, if he is available, because he has played many games for Leicester over the pre-season. He has trained well and he has looked sharp when he has been here.
Paul Pogba will also be in the Man United line-up to face the Blues after he failed to leave Old Trafford despite his agent’s rants of his client already on the way to Juventus and afterwards Los Blancos.
The manager indeed has better plans for the midfielder as he has considered him as an asset not to be risked at all times, but will definitely feature in the first match of the 2019/2020 season as his side struggles to get back to the Champions League race.
”Paul joined in, actually, the day after [the AC Milan match]. I wasn’t going to risk him, travelling down with the flight, but he joined in the game against Blackburn the day after, behind closed doors here. He is available.”
“All of the boys are fit. It was always our aim to get to the starting line with as many players as fit as possible. Of course, Eric’s injury is bad news but the rest of them are available.“
The Blues have lost their defense wall to Arsenal after David Luiz forced out on late transfer deal following reports of new manager, Lampard not having a place for him in the 2019/2020 season.
