Manchester City set to take on Chelsea for the final of the UEFA Champions League in their first ever final of the competition
Pep Guardiola having earlier mentioned, knows the game won’t be an easy one after having lost twice to the German tactician.
The last time Pep set his hands on a Champions League trophy was 10-years ago when he was still manager at FC Barcelona.
The Spaniard could likely end his 10-year drought today while Thomas Tuchel could be lifting his first ever UEFA Champions League trophy today after just 4 months he arrived Stamford Bridge.
Taking up the Chelsea job halfway and winning the UCL in same season will make Tuchel one of the most remembered managers in Chelsea history, just like Roberto Di Matteo who also took the job half way and delivered their first UCL trophy in 2012.
Thomas Tuchel has a full fit squad after seeing N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy return to training yesterday.
Mendy had been a major doubt for the game today but after a scan was carried out on him, he discovered it wasn’t as bad as he thought.
Kante who asked to be subbed against Leicester City is also back in action today.
Meanwhile, it may not be all green for Pep Guardiola after reports yesterday revealed Ilkay Gundogan had to stop training after a muscle injury.
It’s likely he won’t be in the squad today but the rest of the squad seem fully fit for action tonight.
