Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri defends Serie A most costliest defender, De Ligt as fans debunks his recent poor performances.

Maurizio Sarri has backed his €75m defender after mistakes from De Ligt caused Lautaro’s Inter Milan equaliser at the 18th minute.

The Former Ajax defender, Matthijs De Ligt has of lately found it a bit difficult to properly settle ever since arriving from the Amsterdam based club for a whooping €75m.

With criticisms hitting the roofs, Sarri once again came to the defender’s rescue after handing the Nerrazurri Seria A loss of the season.

“Matthijs is a strong guy,” Sarri said. “He is adapting to our way of defending. It is normal that he has some games with a few more difficulties. He is experiencing a new kind of football. To be honest, if Chiellini was fit, he wouldn’t have started these games so early in his career here.”

Juventus victory over Inter Milan handed them a major boost as they moved to the 1st position with a point clear Inter.
