World best player, Lionel Messi might not have the best of his career days this season as he’s sent into bench after suffering an early injury against Villareal.

Lionel Messi who made his 400th La Liga appearance as Barcelona narrowly steals the 3 points from Villareal has been sent back to injury just on his first appearance of the season.

The Argentine never failed to make his mark despite the little time he spent in the game as he provided an assist right from the corner for Antoine Griezmann to get on the score sheet, netting his 3rd goal in 6 La liga starts since joining Atletico Madrid.

No goal came till the end of the game except for the first three which came during the first 45 minutes. Griezmann’s early 6th minute goal, Arthur’s 15th minute goal as Busquets provided the assist and Santi Carzola’s pull back goal, ending the scoreline.

According to Ernesto Valverde, Messi’s injury wasn’t that serious as the manager directed it as a “small problem in the adductor” but substituting him was a precautionary measure to avoid sending him back where he just returned from.
