Mesut Ozil won’t play another game for Arsenal

Ozil might be drawing nearer to the exit door as former winger, Ray Parlour makes strong claim that the Turkish won’t field anymore games for Gunners.

Despite having offered to pay wages of Gunner’s axed Gunnersaurus who was laid off in attempts to cut cost during the ongoing Pandemic, Ozil still risks leaving Emirates Stadium.

With the last time he featured for Mikel Arteta been before the start of the 2020/2021 campaign, links point towards an exit for the 31-year-old.

But with a contract yet to run out in the summer of 2021, Ozil could still be taking out a very huge chunk from Arsenal’s wage bill without doing a single thing for the squad.

Arteta doesn’t see him as a needed part of the current team vision and refusing to take a pay cut has worsened his case at Emirates Stadium.

There are now several doubts about his future at the club and former footballer, Ray Parlour has while speaking with Talksport made a very strong claim.

“He won’t play another game,” Parlour said.

“Not really.” He continued when asked if Arteta could still need Mesut Ozil’s services.

“He’s got young players now that he really wants and have gone in front of Mesut Ozil – people like [Joe] Willock and [Reiss] Nelson and players like that. They are going to get a chance.

“They have made that big decision. They have still got to pay his wages but he’s not going to be involved.”

Unlike many fans out there applauding Ozil’s offer to take up Gunnersaurus’ wage bills, Parlour believes it’s a deceitful act by Ozil to keep his name clean in the eyes of the fans.

“It is [a PR stunt], yeah,” said Parlour.

“I wish Gunnersaurus was on £300,000-a-week because they’d get their money’s worth.

“It’s nothing he’s done to me, but I reckon it’s a very good PR stunt. Don’t you think? Behind the scenes, to get the fans back on his side, let’s do that.”

On the other hand, it’s unlikely any team could knock in for Ozil considering his large wage demands and America looks clearer as the only possible destination for the former Real Madrid Maestro.
