According to the words of the former Chelsea manager, Napoli is set to become the major contender of the Serie A title following his assurance of having a stronger Napoli.
“Yes, I think so. We are stronger quality-wise, then the team will have to be put together. The market has been good so far, then the field will judge.” Ancelotti told media reporters.
“The team is motivated and has reached a good physical condition. We are a strong and competitive group with an important goal. The growth is linked to the improvement of the players.
He continued. “Fiorentina is a team that has changed a lot. We will play on a difficult pitch and we want to do well.
Napoli just finalised a €42m for PSV 24 year old winger/forward, Hirving Rodrigo Lozano and the manager believes the Mexican’s desire to join Napoli entails he would do well in the squad.
Having scored 40 goals and assisted 23 times in 79 appearances for PSV, Lozano joined Napoli today after sealing his five-year deal with Napoli.
“He[Lozano] is a player that will increase quality. He is a serious guy, who showed a great desire to come to Napoli.
“Icardi? I’m not interested in the story, the club thinks about it. We have competent directors, I only think about the team and tomorrow we have an important and difficult start.
The manager went on to share that his game tomorrow would be without their Polish striker, Arkadiusz Milik following a contract uncertainty issue.
“Milik? He tried this morning but he will not be available. We are negotiating to renew his contract with the club, he is very important for the team,” Ancelotti concluded.
Napoli hopes to secure their three points although it might be a tough considering that their last clash ended in a tie.
