Matic signed new three-year contract deal with Manchester United.
The 31 years old Serbian midfielder has recently signed a new contract with Manchester United, which would see him stay till 2023.
Since taking charge, Ole has made Matic an important factor in his squad, and recently, Matic has been outstanding in their unbeaten run, which could be the reason he was offered new contract.
After slow start of the season though, Matic’s future at Old Trafford was questioned, but the midfielder has lately proven his worth to Ole.
Speculations had it that the 31-year-old was considering a move away from United if his game time was to be limited as his contract was set to expire this summer.
When he joined from Chelsea three years ago, he signed a three year contract for the club with an option for another three years, now it’s come to reality for the old midfielder
Matic has made 27 appearances for the club this season and totally has made 117 appearances for the club since joining from London.
He is very delighted to sign the new deal.
In his statement he said.. “I am very happy that I will continue to be part of this great club. As a player, I still have a lot more to give and achieve in my career and to do that with Manchester United will be a huge honour,”
“This is a really exciting team to be part of, we have a good balance of youth and experience within the squad and there is great comradery amongst the group”
He continued.. “This is a key part of the season and we are playing well. We will continue to fight to finish the season on a high and make our amazing supporters proud.”
Manchester United boss is also happy to see Matic sign a new deal with him, he says.. “I am delighted that Nemanja has signed a new contract, I know his experience, professionalism and leadership will be invaluable to this young talented group,”
Ole went on.. “We have great strength in midfield and Nemanja’s attributes are a key part of that. Nemanja has been here for three seasons now and really understands the values of playing for Manchester United.
“He remains hugely ambitious and determined which will be vital as we look to achieve our aims over the coming years.” he concluded.
