N’golo Kante has spoken up on his new and advanced midfield role on the Blues squad stating he’s comfortable at it.
Chelsea midfielder has disclosed that he is happy playing the role former manager, Maurizio Sarri appointed him to, despite critics on the former manager.
Sarri was constantly slammed by the Blues supporters for featuring Jorginho in the base position of the midfield thereby exporting its original player to a more attacking duties.
Having departed and succeeded by club Legend, Frank Lampard, Sarri’s midfield setup was expected to die with his departure but Lampard views it perfect as he has not reinstated Kante to his former role.
The former Leicester City man disclosed after their penalty loss to Super Cup opponents, Liverpool that he is very happy with his new role and is ever willing to give his best since it’s what the manager wants.
‘I like to play in this position, this is where I played last year,’ the 28-year-old midfielder told Goal.
‘The coach asked me to play in this position, I like to do it.
‘I know what to do with my teammates and we played a good game tonight.’
Kante displayed his skills as Chelsea managed to dominate the game against Liverpool but so unfortunate as Tammy Abraham’s penalty miss deprived them of the trophy.
