Liverpool are indeed closer to ending their historial curse but can this be possible, considering the recent blows they would sustain?
While they sit almost comfortably with 94 points at the top of the league table and 2 points ahead of the defending champions; Manchester City, Liverpool are into their toughtes part of the season.
The Reds need to win all remaining matches in order to lift the Premier league trophy but they might have to forfeit the Champions League.
Liverpool suffered a 3-0 defeat during their visit to Camp Nou and only 3 goals can get them back on track in this competition.
A normal Liverpool with Sala, Mane and Firmino in the frontline wont bother much about 3 goals but the tables are turned now.
No Firmino and possibly no Salah, how on earth can Liverpool cope with this?
Similar scenero in the last Champions League final when Ramos’ hard tackle saw Salah off the pitch and Mane had to struggle in the frontline alone.
With Salah’s critical collision with Newcastle Keeper, Martin Dubravka, the Egyptian is currently under check and there are greater chances that he won’t make the second leg against Barcelona.
Firmino’s case has been confirmed by the manager that the Brazilian will be abscent against Barcelona.
Guess only a miracle would see Liverpool through at this critical point in time, cause any slight mistake would have them lose both the Premier league trophy and the Champions league trophy as well.
Klopp has tried in bringing Liverpool this far!!!
A wise bet on this is forfeiting the Champions league for next season and grabing the closer Premier league trophy.
But by the end of this month we would be telling a story of this historic time; either Liverpool wining the Champions league and the EPL with an injured and incomplete squad or winning either with the same incomplete squad.
Or maybe losing out on the two trophies and extending their trophyless campaign.
