Timo Werner believes there is a better striker than Erling Haaland
Chelsea misfiring Timo Werner may have in his past interview helped Chelsea crack their current striking puzzle.
The Blues are left on the fence after Borussia Dortmund remained adamant on their decision not to let Erling Haaland leave the club this summer.
Having sold Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, the Germans aren’t interested in letting Haaland who is another key player leave the squad.
Despite having tried to use their big money demand to scare off admirers, Dortmund were shocked with an unchanged interest from West London.

But having seen how things are turning out, the Blues are already considering other chances which includes former front man, Romelu Lukaku, Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski, Harry Kane and so on.
Both Inter Milan and Tottenham have already disclosed their decision to keep their strikers, leaving Chelsea to be considering a €50m move for Lewandowski.
Although one thing stalling the deal is his age, Chelsea are known to be a side not comfortable handing aged players long term contract or even paying for their transfer fees.
The 32-year-old would have been an easier pick if he was arriving on free transfer just like Thiago Silva did.
Meanwhile, following Timo Werner’s past comments on the Polish, it’s less of a risk to land Lewandowski as he claimed the former Dortmund man is the only striker who can score in every game.
With 203 goals in 219 league games for Bayern since arriving in 2014, Lewandowski is sure a good pick for Chelsea’s temporal striking issues.
Speaking while he was still in the Bundesliga Timo said of Lewy; “You can’t score every game unless your name is Robert Lewandowski,” Werner joked last year.
“When I score two in Berlin, he scores two against Dortmund and I ask myself when he’ll stop.
“He’s currently in the same category as [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi.”
Lewandowski’s agent has already informed club’s of his client’s availability and willingness to make a switch this summer.
