Amad Diallo is expected to complete his transfer to Old Trafford in no due time as Passport issue stalls arrival
Amad Diallo watched from Italy as his new side kicked off the new year with a win on their match with Aston Villa.
Diallo marked for the Red Devils for a fee rising to £37m on the transfer deadline day back in October and has since then not moved to England due to his passport issues.
Speaking after Man United’s win against visitors Aston Villa, Solskjaer provided update on the youngster saying; “[With] Amad we’ve had all the paperwork, or we’re waiting for all the paperwork. I can’t see any obstacles really.
“Hopefully within not too long he’ll be with us,” Solskjaer continued.
“I’m very excited about bringing him in. I think he’s shown a few times his qualities,” the Norwegian added.
Amad Diallo has made just 5 appearances for Atlanta as he also did found the back of the net on his debut day against Udinese.
United’s manager believes the 18-year-old will need time to adapt to the English style of play as he also assured of Diallo’s game time.
“Of course he has to learn to play in England,” Ole added. “That’s a different level of football. We’ll give him time to develop and to express himself.
“Apart from that, I’m not really thinking too much on what we’re going to do with players. Of course, we’re always working long-term.
“That’s the big thing. We have targets we need long-term for the club.”
Man United are sitting just goals behind the top place of the EPL after a great Pogba show won his side the final goal of the match before Eric Bailey’s late defense stopped an equalizer goal.
Speaking of the game yesterday, Solskjaer said as he singled out Anthony Martial’s opening header; “I love diving headers, I keep on about that in crossing and finishing sessions. It was a good goal, a great run by Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] and ball just before.
“Anthony will improve and get better and better. He’s had a few chances this season, he’s still getting them but has not had that bit of luck and margins in front of goal. Tonight we saw a better version of Anthony, a more confident one.

“We’ve had some chats, of course, and we’ve spoken about last season, how important he was for us then and he’s going to be for us this season as well.
“Good players know form is temporary but when you’ve got class, that’s permanent. He’s proven his class and is getting fitter and fitter so that means he’ll get better and better.”
