Chelsea shared points with Southampton but Owen believes Mason Mount was exceptional with his performance once again today

The Blues suffered a first half knock when Liverpool loanee, Takumi Minamino brushed off Cesar Azpilicueta and Edouard Mendy to net a superb opener.

Having struggled to balance the game, Chelsea finally found the back of The Saints net when Mason Mount brilliantly committed Danny Ings into taking him down in the home team’s 18-yard box.

With him also being the scorer for Chelsea today, former Bayern Munich star, Owen Hargreaves marked the English man out for his exceptional contributions.

Speaking after the game Owen said; “To be fair, he was probably the only real Chelsea attacker that looked sharp, looked good and I thought he played really well.

“Great penalty,” Hargreaves added while speaking to Premier League Productions.

“Everything he touched seemed to be positive,” he continued to express how he saw Mount during the game.

“The rest of the attackers you’d have to say weren’t really in the game.”

One of the very known names that had a bad day today is Callum Hudson-Odoi who was also pulled off during the 74th minute despite having only come on at the begining of the second half.

Thomas Tuchel revealed the winger wasn’t giving what he expected of him so he decided to pull him to install Hakim Ziyech who hasn’t had game time for weeks now.

Speaking on Hudson-Odoi’s early shocking sub, Thomas Tuchel said to BTsport;

“We brought in Hudson-Odoi but I was not happy with his attitude, energy and counter-pressing.

“I took him off and we demand 100%, I feel he is not in the right shape to help us.

“It was a hard decision but tomorrow it is forgotten and he has all possibilities to start against Atletico Madrid.

“It is always a big week so it is mixed feelings at the moment, it will not be easier to score against Atletico.”

Chelsea will go head to head with Spanish La Liga leaders on the next fixture with hopes of materializing a win to facilitate their advancement into the next stage of the UCL.
