Luka Jovic’s trip back to Germany has necessitated for Real Madrid’s interest in Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud
Giroud despite being a good striker has failed to get good game time under Frank Lampard as he could finally be leaving Stamford Bridge this January after having turned down a move to Juventus.
His hat-trick against Sevilla really brought him into the transfer market, causing several eyes to be on him but Chelsea have of lately indicated they do not wish to part ways with Giroud yet.
Frank Lampard on the other hand isn’t making things easy with the Frenchman as he has failed to give him proper game time as desired.
Real Madrid are reportedly in search of a striker after returning Luka Jovic to Frankfurt on loan following his inability to perform at Santiago Bernabeu.
At the moment, Real Madrid are yet to submit an offer for the striker but it’s considered likely that Giroud would easily push for the deal that would have him competing with his countryman, Karim Benzema as both aren’t even in good terms.
Having Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner in the squad would easily make Lampard give in to letting Giroud leave after having earlier on stated he wants the striker around for at least until the end of the season.
