The Israeli could be taking his trip back to Stamford Bridge as sources disclose Abramovic eyes to add power to Chelsea backroom
Abramovic is clearly not happy with the Manchester City game result as that also erupted talks of Frank Lampard’s sack.
With many names already lined up as possible replacement, Chelsea board decided to keep trusting in the former midfielder who led Blues through unbeaten run from September 2020 to December when they slipped against Carlos Ancelotti’s Everton.
Frank Lampard on the other hand is determined to retain his place in the club and a winner against Morecambe came as a bolster to his squad.
Roman Abramovic is also reportedly ready to stand by the English manager as he eyes bringing back former Chelsea manager.
But this time, Lampard isn’t vacating, rather Avram Grant will join as a backroom staff to help fire things up and provide helps where needed.
Grant was Chelsea manager through 2007 to 2008 when he won 36 games and lost 6 out of 54 fixtures.
The former Ghana manager is said to know Frank Lampard too well and bringing him back to team would help increase productivity.
Diving into the happenings currently in the club, Grant said on his Instagram post; “What I can say to Frank and the others at the club is be patient, and more than this do whatever is necessary to do that for sure
“Two things – never lose it even when things are going well, don’t lose your fighting spirit at the highest level. And second, don’t lose what you have here [points at head], you need to think right and look for solutions.
“If you do that then everything will be okay because the quality is there and there is a potential like there was, during my time [at Chelsea].”
Working with Grant is an option Lampard would be glad to explore.
